Note	Son of John Blacket Esquire and Patience. Sheriff of Newcastle 1756. Mayor of Newcastle four times (1765, 1772, 1780 & 1790). He was steward of the lead mines of his 2nd cousin, Sir Walter Calverley Blackett. Died at his house. One of the original 21 partners of the Newcastle Upon Tyne Fire Office in 1783 and a member of the first committee (equivalent to the board of directors) in 1783. Will dated 17 Feb 1810. Aged 86 at burial.
Note	Sarah Roddam — View this family Midlothian marriage register gives 29 Mar 1761. "John Erasmus Blacket Esqr of the Town and County of Newcastle and Miss Sarah Rodham Eldest Daughter of the deceased Robert Rodham of Heathpool Esqr in the County of Northumberland."
