Marriage	Some details in the entry are incorrect. It reads "Mr. Edward Blacket son to Sir Edward Blacket & Mrs Margaret Yorke daughter to ye Lady Yorke were marryed ye 6th day of October 1676".
Note	2nd Baronet. M.P. for Ripon 1689-90 and for Northumberland 1698-1700. In 1690 he built Newby Hall, Yorks., with the help of Sir Christopher Wren, which remained within the family until 1748. Marriage Settlement with Mary Yorke dated 25 Nov 1674. C. 1700 John Sharp, Archbishop of York, referred in a letter to a "secret marriage of Sir Edward Blackett's daughter." This referred to Anne, who eloped with an attorney from Ripon. Mentioned in Will of his brother, Sir William Blackett. Will dated 9 Apr 1718, proved 22 Apr 1718.
