Made a freeman of the Merchant Adventurers Company by patrimony 13 Jan 1663/4, being son of Thomas Davison, merchant, by his wife, Anne, daughter of Ralph Cock, sometime alderman of Newcastle. Mayor of Newcastle in 1673. Sheriff of Newcastle in 1666 while William Blackett was Mayor. William Blackett purchased Beamish estate in trust for him abt. 1682/4. Will dated 7 Feb 1694/5, proved by Thomas and Elizabeth Davison 5 Jan 1696/7.

Sued Dorothy, the widow and executrix of his late his brother-in-law, Michael Blackett 1685 for fraud and repayment of balance of £450 of a loan made to him.
