"Walter William Blackett, S: of William a Shipwright 3 Cott Street by Martha born 11th of August 1786". In 1861 head of family in Halifax County, Nova Scotia. 2 males in household. Moved to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where he founded the settlement of Glace Bay around 1818. According to notes written in 1925 by his grandson, Charles Wesley Blackett, he died aged 89.
