Son of John Blackett, Mari[ner] by Sarah, G[reat] Herm[itage] St{reet}. At marriage John Blackett of Highbury Place to Sophia, 4th daughter of John Wilson esq of Upper St. Islington. Described as "merchant" at baptism of daughter in 1813. Will dated 14 Mar 1828 appointed widow, Martha Blackett, Henry Allnutt (Martha's father or brother?) of Ivy Mills near Maidstone, Kent, paper maker, Stephen Wilson (brother-in-law) of Wood Street, Cheapside, City of London, silk merchant, John Wilson (brother-in-law) of Tyndale Place, Islington, gentleman, since deceased, and John Remington Mills of Milk Street, Cheapside, silk merchant, his executors. Probate granted to Martha Blackett 13 Sep 1832 with power reserved to the other executors. Will & Codicil dated 7 Oct 1830 proved 23 Jul 1860 by Henry Allnutt Esq. & John Remington Mills Esq., the other & surviving executors. (Effects under £14,000). In his will he states that as his two children by his first marriage, John Wilson Blackett and Sarah Sophia Blackett, had been left property by their maternal grandfather, John Wilson, he feels duty bound to provide for the children of his 2nd marriage from the property brought by his 2nd wife Martha Allnutt to their marriage. The bequests to his children were contingent upon their attaining the age of 25. Aged 48 at burial.

Witnesses John Wilson, John Blackett (snr?) S. (?) Percival, Jemima Stock, Richard Percival (Jnr?). Sarah Blackett and Samuel(?) Wilson also signed register. Groom signed as "John Blackett Jnr."
