Note

15 Oct 1627 Letters patent, signed by Richard, Bishop of Durham allowing Sir Thomas Blakeston and John Witham to alienate land in East Shipley to Christopher and Hugo Blackett. Sir Thomas Blakeston's Inq. p.m. taken 1 Oct 1627 refers to lands and tenements in East Shipley purchased by him and John from Christopher Blackett and Hugh his son. Christopher Blackett "of Shipley" Will dated 20 Mar 1630/1. Inventory dated 13 Apr 1631, total £100 7s 8d (with account of debts and funeral expenses £35 2s 2d). Probate granted to Hugh Blackett, sole executor, 14 May 1631. Surtees tree shows Christopher as the eldest son of Richard.
