| Note | In 1575, Thomas recorded his coat of arms with the Norroy Herald. There may be some doubt over the date of his burial. Inq.p.m. taken at Durham 19 Oct 1605. "William aged 54 is his son and next heir." By deed dated 8 Feb 1578/9 he had demised his land in Wodcroft for the term of 100 years subject to an annual rent, to Peter Madison, reversion to himself and his heirs. Stanhope, lands and tenements in Wodcroft in the parish of. In 1583 he demised to Peter Maddison, gent. 3 closes of land being part of the Woodcroft estate. (One called Buiri Holme").
