| Note | In 1359 he held the office of forester in Weardale. Inquisition Post Mortem taken 11 Sep (1368) at Durham. "William aged 12 is his son and next heir. Jointly with Christiana his wife he had held his lands. Stanhope, lands and tenements in." William must have died, as Christiana's Inq.p.m. dated 5 Dec 1384 shows John, aged 24 as the next heir. Bishop Hatfield's survey of the See of Durham 1345-81 records Richard Blackhed as a forester holding estate in the forest of Weardale. |
