By articles of agreement dated 14 Mar 1804 between William Blackett and John Wilkinson [regarding an old cottage in Bishop Auckland previously used as a school-house] the said John Wilkinson did contract and agree with the said William Blackett for the purchase of the premises in the before recited surrender of 4 Oct 1804; subject, nevertheless, to the life estate of the said Mary Stephenson in four rooms, at the east end of the premises, for the sum of one hundred and twenty pounds.
