Note
Her birth certificate shows Essex Row but this was merely a local nickname for Wood Row, which had been built by labourers from Essex. (With thanks to Lyn Hart for the research.) Possible baptism 21 May 1917 at St. Mary, Monk Hesleden. 'Julia Blackett, of 23 West Terrace, Blackhall, adult[sic?], child of Robert William Blackett (miner) & Elizabeth Blackett, provisional baptism.' It is not known that they lived at Blackhall, nor that Robert William Blackett had by then given up running The Wheatsheaf in Staindrop and reverted to being a miner. However no other suitable Julia Blackett has been identified. Occupation (until aged 91): piano teacher. Funeral service at Victoria Park Methodist Church, Winton, Bournemouth.
