Admiral in the Royal Navy. His second-in-command at the Battle of Copenhagen 1801 was Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson, who famously ignored Parker's order to disengage by raising his telescope to his blind eye, and going on to win the battle. Knighted 1779.
