Additionally, in November 2009 we were invited to become part of The British Library’s web archive programme (another feather in the cap of the Blackett family!). The “Three Blacketteers”, Pat Longbottom, Al Kirtley and Martin Blackett attended the Historic Hamsterley day in Hamsterley Village Hall on Saturday 13 August. The event was a great success and well-attended and we met many people with whom we had corresponded in the past, and were also invited by the present owners to visit several properties once owned by the Blacketts. We hope to add more material relating to the Blacketts’ connection to the Hamsterley area over the next few weeks.
